Hi and welcome to Race World Apparel, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and why I have followed my motorsport passion and set up a racing apparel store in Ireland.
Some of my earliest and fondest memories in life originate from the world of Motorsport. My Dad was a champion grass track racer with the Midget Racing Car Club of Ireland and I loved travelling with him, my mother and younger sister and brothers across Ireland for the action packed events and meeting up with our Motorsport friends.
I have loved Formula 1 since the first time I can remember seeing it on the TV. My first memory is watching the highlights of the Grand Prix on BBC. My attention was captured by the amazing intro we all know and love, “The Chain by Fleetwood Mac”. I don’t remember the race but I can remember one car and driver. It was a beautiful black car and the driver wore a bright yellow helmet, yes you guessed it, the great Ayrton Senna.
Another early memory I have of Formula 1 is a photograph I saw which must have been from a Motorsport magazine belonging to my Dad. It was a picture of the Marlboro liveried Mclaren being worked on in the pit-lane by the team’s mechanics and racing engineers. I can still remember that I loved the way the team members were kitted out in their red and white team apparel. I thought they looked super cool!
So it’s hardly surprising that I would take up the sport myself when the opportunity arose. I have absolutely loved my time racing at circuits across Ireland and the UK and I have included my highlights below:
2002 / Irish National Formula Vee Rookie Champion
2005 / Irish National Formula Vee
2006 / Phoenix Park Race Winner
2009 / Formula Sheane National Champion – Phoenix Park Race Winner – Winner of the International Leinster Trophy (This trophy has been won in the past by Former Formula 1 World Champions, Ayrton Senna & Mika Hakkinen while on their way to becoming Formula 1 legends.)
I haven’t raced since 2009 but I’ve been busy with the highlights being getting married to my amazing wife Sheila and bringing 2 new Motorsport fans into the world, Cillian and Chloe.
I have introduced Race World Apparel to provide a one stop shop for team replica & lifestyle clothing of the top Formula 1 and Moto GP teams and their drivers and riders respectively. We will be stocking official merchandise and the latest designs and looking to increase or range as we grow. As well as selling these top quality products on our online superstore we will also be present at many Motorsport events and festivals around Ireland and the UK.
